What I have been up to the past week.

So last weekend was my first shower given to me by my bridesmaids. It was absolutely perfect..they did a wonderful job and I think everyone had an amazing time..well done girls. It was great to have a a majority of our family friends there to celebrate such an exciting time with me. It was a bit emotional to look around the room at so many women from different aspects of my life who have helped shape and mold me into the person I am today. Sunday Jonathan and I spent the whole day at my parents..we had 3 meals there! My brother came in late Saturday night, so it was great to hang with him and get cuaght up on his crazy life in San Antonio. Nothing exciting happened during the week, just busy with grad school and my externship..

I met my mom and Terri today to pick out invitations for the shower she is throwing me in May. We found some precious invitations at Hallmark today and they will be ready in a week! Then we headed over to Town Center for a little shopping..not a great amount of success. I am on a mission for wedding shoes..since the wedding is a mere 8 weeks away! Then I met Jenn for a little shopping and an early dinner. After dinner I headed to Molly & Trey's engagement party. It was an amazing celebration at her aunt's house. Molly & Trey are one perfect couple..he just fits right into the Michalek clan. Baby Grace was there fast asleep..she didn't wake up once during the night! She is growing so fast.

That's my week in a nutshell...studying all day tomorrow with Tina for COMPS that are also fastly approaching.

To-Do's Before I Do

This has been a productive week! Yesterday my mom, Jenn and I went to my first dress fitting. It was so great to put on my dress again! I was able to wear it for a whole hour! I love going to the dress shop and putting it on..I could wear it everyday! My dress will be ready in early April. Last night we headed to the rodeo with our friends Adam & Sara to see Gary Allen. We met them for an early dinner and then headed to Reliant. After the concert we headed over to the "Main Club" with some goldbadge members...needless to say there were few dull moments last night.



Today I met my FMIL to pick out invitations for the rehearsal dinner. After our first two stops, we headed to Hallmark and found some great invites that are PERFECT! We then headed over to the mall because I needed shoes for Saturday..always a procrastinator! I found some super cute black "gladiator-ish" flats to wear! Another item checked off the list! We ate lunch and then headed back to the house to figure out how to print the invitations..after an hour or so we figured it out! Go us!

Tomorrow I am meeting my sweet friend Mer and little C for some lunch and shopping. Oh I can't wait. It will be a fun day of chatting and hopefully some good shopping!

Oh and I almost forgot..my mom called and our FIRST wedding present arrived today!! I must say I am truly amazed by people's love and giving during this unstable economy we are in. All we can say is thank you and are truly blessed with amazing friends and families.

68 Days!

I am in total disbelief that our wedding is 68 days away! It seems I have not been paying close enough attention to the calendar to realize the wedding is a mere 3 months away. Tomorrow my mom and I have a semi full day of wedding planning. I start the day at the dentist..woohoo and then I have my dress fitting at 2. In between we will be working on projects for the reception in order to give it some personal touches. My sweet friend Jenn will be joining us for the day. That night Jonathan and I are headed to the Rodeo to see Gary Allen with our friends Adam and Sarah. It will be a long day, but exciting and fun at the same time!

Thursday I am meeting my FMIL to pick out invitations for the rehearsal dinner and to have lunch. Afterwards I am looking forward to a mani/pedi and a spray tan to prep for my first shower on Saturday given to me by my bridesmaids. I am truly excited about all of the festivities to come! Friday I am meeting Mer and little C to run some more wedding errands and hopefully for a little shopping..although I think I have more clothes than I know what to do with at this point. Shh...don't tell Jonathan I said that.

It will be a busy week, but a fun one at that. I am truly blessed with some amazing friends and can't wait for everything in store.

On a side note- I am having difficulty deciding what to do about shoes for the big day. I have a great pair of flats that I have bought, but CANNOT decide if I want to wear them the whole night or change into them for the reception...any thoughts??

Where Have I Been?

Well it has been over a week since my last post, so I guess I should do a bit of updating! I spent the past weekend at my parents house while Jonathan headed to Austin. I met mom after work to return somethings and buy somethings. Then we woke up Saturday and headed out to finish as much as we could. We were gone from 12 to 9; my dad went to San Antonio and back and beat us home... We hit Marshalls, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, the new outdoor shopping center in Katy and Katy Mills Mall. But boy did we get a lot checked off the "to-do" list! It felt good knowing we were accomplishing things and are getting closer to having almost everything done for the big day as it is fastly approaching! By the time we got home we were exhausted!

I secretly LOVE spending the weekend at my parents..it is so relaxing and nice to just hang with my parents and not worry about very much. I love getting up and sitting in the sunroom with them and reading the paper..not to mention the home-cooked meals are always a bonus! I can't wait for Jonathan and I to move out closer to them at some point and be able to spend more time with them.

So far this week, I am just making appts for next week, since it is Spring Break, so we can wrap everything else up. So far we have my dress fitting, dentist appt, food tasting and whatever else my mom can manage to get in next week. I have my first shower on the 21st given to me by my bridesmaids and I can't wait! Then we have our engagement pics on the 25th! It will be a busy few weeks, but also very exciting.

JJ is sick this week...so I am on "nurse duty" so to speak! I have to say I am not the best, but he gives me good practice for when we have kids..what is it about guys when they get sick?

We are headed to the Rodeo tomorrow night, weather permitting and if JJ is feeling better!

Rodeo Cook-Off

So I almost forgot to post about going to the Rodeo Cook-off last Friday! Minus coming home and smelling incredibly smokey..we had a great time. We went with a great group of friends and met up with some more. All in all it was a much needed fun night on the town! Here are a few of the pictures from the night:

Wedding Update..

This past Saturday my sweet mom and I spent the day ALL over Houston looking for all sorts of things for the wedding from apothecary jars to paper. We literally drove from the Heights to River Oaks to Harwin in one day! Sadly my mom and I did not have much luck! We had a great time together and I truly cherish all of the time we have spent together during the wedding planning. After our long day I think we are both ready for all of the loose ends to be tied up and for the wedding to be here.

Tonight Jonathan and I headed over the Men's Wearhouse to make some decisions on that issue. He kept going back and forth between tux's or having the guys buy suits because some of them are buy one get one free. Well after spending nearly an hour there...we ended up renting tux's. Something I thought was going to be soo easy was not at all! Oh well at least it is done! I can check that off the list...yes! I just LOVE checking things of the LONG list we have!

This weekend mom and I are planning on running more errands and hopefully we will be more successful.
