What a week!

This has been a crazy week for me! I started my externship last week at Memorial Hermann Southwest and surprisingly I am enjoying it! I think I like the fact that I get to wear scrubs everyday! I am working with adults and it is a little depressing...

I am also back in school too. Thankfully it is my last class, but it will be a demanding one! This semester is supposed to be lighter, but we have to take Comprehensive Exams in April and the Praxis the following weekend.

But in happier news..I graduate on May 15th and get married the following weekend...talk about cutting it close! I simply cannot wait until May is here!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

2009

This is a very exciting and busy year for Jonathan & I. Jonathan started a new job, which he loves! Tomorrow marks my second to last semester of graduate school, which we could not be more thrilled about. I think Jonathan maybe more excited than I am! We are getting married in May at the Courtyard on St. James. Although it is 4 months away we are so ready for that day to be here!

Then in August, I will officially have my Master's degree from the University of Houston. I cannot explain how amazing that will feel. After 6 straight years of college, I will finally be able to have a job. I know sounds crazy, but to not have had your money for 6 years is actually annoying. Then it will out into the real world, which I am honestly super excited about. This may seem odd to several people, but if you know me then you know I am a driven person and look forward to see what the future holds for me as an SLP and what it holds for Jonathan & I as husband and wife.

Saturday my mom and I went to a dear friend's wedding. To say it was beautiful is an understatement. Jamie did such an amazing job decorating the reception hall. It was simple, but elegant. We had such a great time at her wedding. We ate and danced all night long. So congrats to Jamie and David on their new life together!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Ruggles

I just had an amazing dinner with The Hodges at Ruggles Grille! The entire meal was so delicious and superb from appetizers to dessert the dinner did not disappoint. It has this amazing ambiance that is perfect for a great dinner date.

Tomorrow is a very exciting day! My dear friend, Jamie is getting married! I cannot wait to celebrate the big day with her and David. I will post pictures when we get back from Brenham on Sunday.

PS I had lunch with Carson today and I am officially in love with that precious boy! I even bought him a little present today! I am officially obsessed with him and of course his fabulous mom, Meredith!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wedding Plans...

So yesterday my sweet mom and I had two cake appointments and my first dress fitting! So we headed to Edible Designs by Jessie at 10am! It was early, but boy were those cakes amazing!!! We picked a gorgeous cake...you will have to wait and see! Then we ran to the mall...of course...my mom and I have been quite the sale shoppers lately! She got a PRECIOUS navy blue dress with ruffles! Then we headed to our second cake appointment of the day. The cakes were also incredibly delicious! Now it is decision time for my mom and I! For those of you wondering why Jonathan didn't attend..he recently started a new job that he loves which means no time off and he doesn't really appreciate sweets the way I do. After we had stuffed ourselves for the second time, we headed to my dress fitting! My MOH Meredith, dear friend Jenn and mother in law to be all met me at the bridal shop. It was so exciting to try on my dress! Shoes, veil and all it suddenly felt so real- I am getting married! Then to top off my perfect day..I got to hang with sweet Carson and bestie Meredith for a fun afternoon of chatting, shopping and dinner. It was an amazing day!

Today my mom and I went to Darryl & Co. to look at linens. This place is the most amazing one-stop shop in the city of Houston. They do everything from linens to flowers to lighting! My mom and I had so much fun there today...we were there for 2 hours! It was great to be so creative and realize that everything is finally coming together for the BIG day!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

6 Year Anniversary!

Well today marks 6 years that Jonathan and I have been together. I absolutely cannot believe it! For a long time it was a "semi-secret" to several people because we worked together. Obviously several of my friends and his knew, but we decided not to tell people at the office just to be on the safe side. Jonathan and I had been together for about two years I guess when I broke the news to a dear friend of mine Meredith..she also worked with us. I clearly remember her reaction...it was shock and awe, but not in a bad way. I think she was more hurt that I had not told her..that I had created some faux name and everything! Now here we are 6 years later still together and planning a wedding!

Speaking of wedding planning- my mom and I have a VERY busy week! We have TWO cake appointments on the same day; my first dress fitting, which I am so excited about- it will make it so real! And my mom and I are going to Darryl & Co to look at linens. I will be exhausted by the end of the week!

Hope everyone is having a great 2009 so far!

After Christopher & Danielle's Wedding

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Where to Begin...Well Jonathan and I have been together for 6 years on Monday. Seems like such a long time to have been together! The years truly have flown by! We have shared several "firsts" together over the years. Now 6 years later we are getting married...about time! Jonathan planned an amazing trip for us to Lake Tahoe a week after his brothers wedding. We were both involved in the wedding and needed our own little vacation to reward us for all of our work. Well little did I know he was planning to propose. We hiked up to this gorgeous lake and he proposed! It was perfect! Now our wedding is less than 6 months away and I simply can't wait to say "I Do." More to come on the wedding plans later.. Stay Tuned!
